Hari ini Isnin 14hb November.
Rupanya safety tour kami bertukar dari jam 1030 ke 0900. Kami berkumpul di bridge. 3rd engineer bernama Vinod membawa kami dari bridge ke bilik engin atau flat 3. Sebenarnya kapal ini mempunyai upper deck hingga bridge iaitu 5. Bilik engin ada 4 ( 0 hingga 3) deck/flat. Kami sampai ke Flat 3 saja buat hari ini kerana besok kami ada taklimat bersama Chief Engineer Gordon. Beliau adalah orang Wales. Beliau adalah ketua di bilik engin dan beliau juga mengendalikan nya baget kapal. Di tiap kapal ada empat jurutera ie chief engineer, 2nd engineer, 3rd and 4th engineer. Kadang2 ada cadet pilot juga.
Our safety tour started from the bridge. This safety tour are for new joiners in the ship. So there were five of us including the safety officer who was bringing us around the ship. We were shown the muster list. Ini this list it displays the roles & duties, and what lifeboat we are to go to in case we have to abandon ship (I am on no.2). We were also shown where the fire alarm, fire hose, muster point/assembly area. We went to upper deck ( breezy and windy...I like!!!) where the loading area. If I am not strong enough especially when we were at the forward (front fo the ship) due to very strong wind we might have been blown away. I can see seagulls flying close to the ship. But unfortunately, no camera once on upper deck. We finished our tour by 1020.
About 1030 we then continue to join in the daily work plan meeting where they discussed safety (512 form - PAKAT), BBS (Behaviour Best Safety or Best Being Safe) like our CAR - 12 lifesaving rules,the days work as well as the next day work plan. Here they adopt the 12 lifesaving rules into their BBS which they do by observing and feedback in 10mins. I see this is better than the one we had as people see it as a positive tool to use unlike the pakat. The general idea of the Daily work plan meeting involve all from captain, engineer, safety officer, gas engineer, bosun, SAO and chief cook. This afternoon we have the day to ourself.
