JIS Prom

As Salam,

This was kaka prom nite which I didn't get to see her getting ready in person as I was away in Perth.  She had one after her form V but dress wise, she chose black and white (shirt and trouser) and NO DRESS.  She only went as part of the committee and as photographer.

For the JIS prom after the A level, she wore the one she bought with Mak Usu.  The one I bought is still in the cupboard.  Thank you Mak Usu.  Both of you had fun time shopping, I heard....

She had her hair and make up done at P&L.  Before leaving for Empire, Kaka went to see nenek lumut.  She took pictures with nenek ayah and nenek but unfortunately it was a bit blurry.  She took pic with her dad too.  Bapa, nenek lumut were surprised with the transformation.  Everyone was!  When I got home from Perth, I can't wait to see the pics.  Wow!!! My princess so beautiful.  Remember Amira, be beautiful outside and most importantly inside as well.  Always thank Allah with what He has given you.

See pics below.  She never wore a dresss or made up before.  I heard her classmates had their eyes and mouth wide open when they saw her.  Some didn't recognised her.  Hee...heee...

slippers oh slippers

As Salam,

You know, when you look at our body, each has its own functions and purposes.  Eyes for seeing, ears for hearing, nose for breathing, mouth for eating, hands for holding, touching,...legs for walking, kicking, jumping...etc...

Feet for example bring you to many places that you wanted to go whether it is your favourite place or the place you dredded to go.  These things sometimes we took for granted, until things happened.  Masya Allah, there are many things that Allah created which we as human take for granted.  Ya Allah, may my family and I always be guided and reminded by YOU.

Why I say such things?  You see, sometimes when our mind is thinking of something, your action is doing something different?  Ever come across that yourself?

Anyway, it happend to me this morning while I was about to take my son to his guitar lesson as per the normal sunday routine.  Before going to the car, I took my handbag and handphone, get the car key, and started the car.  My son Khairee sat at the back.

Onward to our destination on the highway to KB, I suddenly look at my feet.  Then I realised that I had worn the wrong "slippers".  It definitely does not match my baju kurung.  I was supposed to get my crocs from the store before going to the car.  All the footweare were put in the store including my crocs because we had our 7th day tahlil for nenek ayah.  I just drove on and didn't bother to turn back.

Arriving at wisma, Khairee went to the music school, while I just walked to the bookstore to get the sunday newspaper and went to the ATM machine wearing the "slippers".  I said to myself, "who cares if someone noticed?  People laugh?  So what!  It can happen to anybody."

In my mind there are other people who don't even have slippers for footwear.  Some even go barefoot.  Be thankful that I have enough.  I know there are those who will laugh at this even myself.  But once in a while we need to be reminded of those who are less fortunate than us.

Hence, I took the pics below of the "slippers" that I worn.  This is the slippers worn around the garden.  Lawa kan??  Heee..heee

The slippers I wore to town - not my normal crocs

Yours Or Mine??

As Salam,

Ever get one of those days where you knew something is up but didn't realised it?  This happened to me last year.  Can't remember the actual date.  You see, while I was going for a dental appointment at our health centre, I saw a Nigerian family going to the clinic but at the outpatient.

After I am done with the dentist, I went to my car through the front to go to the carpark.  While at the same time, the Nigerian family came from the right side of the health centre to the carpark as well.  I clicked on my car remote to unlock my car the same time the Nigerian lady did hers.

The cars were parked one behind the other - same brand and same color.  I saw the Nigerian kids ran and went in to the car behind.  I went straight  to the one in front of me and looked through the rear mirror and saw the Nigerian kids were sitting happily in the car.  But once inside the car, I felt strange coz when I sat on the driver's seat, it was far way back.  I can't reach the brake or the accelerator.

I turned to the passenger seat, the wipes I put on the seat earlier was not there.  The stuff I hung on the rear mirror was not there.  I thought it must have fell so I looked down but find nothing.  I looked at the back seat, it was the same.  But I was still wondering why was the car different.  Luckily I didn't switch on the ignition.  While I was still puzzled and wondering, I saw the Nigerian lady just walking normally toward the car until she came standing  at the driver's side of the car I was in.  There was no panic on her face.  Once I saw her standing there, I suddenly realised that I went into the wrong car!!  My goodness!

I said, "I don't think this is my car.  I am so sorry."  I continued saying, "No wonder I felt different."

The Nigerian lady said, "I was wondering why my kids went to the car at the back because I parked in the front."  By then we were both talking and laughing and apologising at the same time.  What a day!!

Udang Kara (Lobster)

As Salam,

When we moved to our house, we made a built-in marine fishtank as part of our wall in the dining area which we can see through to the pool and the family room. Over a month ago, Cik Mohamad, brought a lobster in addtition to other marine fishes we had in our tank. I only came to realise that lobsters also shed their scales like snakes shed their skins. How often I don't quite know. But NOW I know.  Previously, we also had prawns, Seahorse but did not live long.

Masya Allah - Allah creation is beautiful.  I feel so small.  May Allah keeps reminding me of my purpose here and not forgetting akhirat.

Dearly Departed

~  Haji Julaihi Bin Ahmad  ~

~  14 July 1932 to 14 Jan 2011  ~

~  14 Jan 2011 (10 Safar 1432) 9.30pm Ripas  ~

Segala puji pujian bagi Allah yang maha pengasih lagi maha pemurah

Dari Mu kami datang dan kepadaMu kami kembali

This is the date my father passed away while he was in hospital.

He went peacefully.  Most important my mother was there at his side.

"Ya Allah, Ampunkan lah dosa dosanya,

Cucurilah rahmatMu ke atas roh nya,

Luaskan dan terangi lah kubur nya,

Berilah dia untuk mendapat syafaat Nabi s.a.w,

Dan tempatkan dia berserta orang orang yang soleh.

Ya Allah, berilah kami kekuatan bagi mengharungi hari hari di masa hadapan,

Tetapkan lah iman kami Ya Allah.

Perkenankanlah doa kami Ya Allah.

Sesungguhnya kepada Mu lah kami berserah.

Amin"

Al Fatihah

Slugbug

Beetle Walkswagon
Wondering why I put up the pic above?

Well, you see....driving along the highway you see many cars passing by and I saw these beetle cars one after the other which reminded me of Kaka.  You see, whenever we are in a car, driving along the highway etc,  Kaka has this game she played.

How to play it?  well...Whenever she sees the Beetle walkswagon car, she will say "slugbug" and tag the person next to her.  But she always tag me (the driver) as she always sits behind the driver seat.  He or She who tagged others the most is the winner.

I was driving alone to visit ayah at the hospital, I saw many of these Beetle cars.  Unfortunately, nobody I could TAG!  Wish you were here Kaka.

So when we have outing to the movies etc, even Usu, Aqeel, Nasreen & Khairee also play this game.  Whoever saw the car first.  Sometimes you get tagged 4 times in a row.  I was...by Aqeel and Mak Usu.

Now kids back to school.  Bapa who sends the kids to school also plays this game and tags Aqeel several times.  Haa..haa....
