Yours Or Mine??

As Salam,

Ever get one of those days where you knew something is up but didn't realised it?  This happened to me last year.  Can't remember the actual date.  You see, while I was going for a dental appointment at our health centre, I saw a Nigerian family going to the clinic but at the outpatient.

After I am done with the dentist, I went to my car through the front to go to the carpark.  While at the same time, the Nigerian family came from the right side of the health centre to the carpark as well.  I clicked on my car remote to unlock my car the same time the Nigerian lady did hers.

The cars were parked one behind the other - same brand and same color.  I saw the Nigerian kids ran and went in to the car behind.  I went straight  to the one in front of me and looked through the rear mirror and saw the Nigerian kids were sitting happily in the car.  But once inside the car, I felt strange coz when I sat on the driver's seat, it was far way back.  I can't reach the brake or the accelerator.

I turned to the passenger seat, the wipes I put on the seat earlier was not there.  The stuff I hung on the rear mirror was not there.  I thought it must have fell so I looked down but find nothing.  I looked at the back seat, it was the same.  But I was still wondering why was the car different.  Luckily I didn't switch on the ignition.  While I was still puzzled and wondering, I saw the Nigerian lady just walking normally toward the car until she came standing  at the driver's side of the car I was in.  There was no panic on her face.  Once I saw her standing there, I suddenly realised that I went into the wrong car!!  My goodness!

I said, "I don't think this is my car.  I am so sorry."  I continued saying, "No wonder I felt different."

The Nigerian lady said, "I was wondering why my kids went to the car at the back because I parked in the front."  By then we were both talking and laughing and apologising at the same time.  What a day!!

Udang Kara (Lobster)

As Salam,

When we moved to our house, we made a built-in marine fishtank as part of our wall in the dining area which we can see through to the pool and the family room. Over a month ago, Cik Mohamad, brought a lobster in addtition to other marine fishes we had in our tank. I only came to realise that lobsters also shed their scales like snakes shed their skins. How often I don't quite know. But NOW I know.  Previously, we also had prawns, Seahorse but did not live long.

Dearly Departed

~  14 Jan 2011 (10 Safar 1432) 9.30pm Ripas  ~

Segala puji pujian bagi Allah yang maha pengasih lagi maha pemurah

Dari Mu kami datang dan kepadaMu kami kembali

This is the date my father passed away while he was in hospital.

He went peacefully.  Most important my mother was there at his side.

"Ya Allah, Ampunkan lah dosa dosanya,

Cucurilah rahmatMu ke atas roh nya,

Luaskan dan terangi lah kubur nya,

Berilah dia untuk mendapat syafaat Nabi s.a.w,

Dan tempatkan dia berserta orang orang yang soleh.

Ya Allah, berilah kami kekuatan bagi mengharungi hari hari di masa hadapan,

Tetapkan lah iman kami Ya Allah.

Perkenankanlah doa kami Ya Allah.

Sesungguhnya kepada Mu lah kami berserah.

Amin"

Al Fatihah

Slugbug

Beetle Walkswagon
Wondering why I put up the pic above?

Well, you see....driving along the highway you see many cars passing by and I saw these beetle cars one after the other which reminded me of Kaka.  You see, whenever we are in a car, driving along the highway etc,  Kaka has this game she played.

How to play it?  well...Whenever she sees the Beetle walkswagon car, she will say "slugbug" and tag the person next to her.  But she always tag me (the driver) as she always sits behind the driver seat.  He or She who tagged others the most is the winner.

I was driving alone to visit ayah at the hospital, I saw many of these Beetle cars.  Unfortunately, nobody I could TAG!  Wish you were here Kaka.

So when we have outing to the movies etc, even Usu, Aqeel, Nasreen & Khairee also play this game.  Whoever saw the car first.  Sometimes you get tagged 4 times in a row.  I was...by Aqeel and Mak Usu.

Now kids back to school.  Bapa who sends the kids to school also plays this game and tags Aqeel several times.  Haa..haa....

Dedicated to Ayah

As Salam,
JPMC - 23 December 2009

After his valve replacement in 2002, he has become heavier and heavier (see above pic).  Moving from one place even short distance, he will be out of breath.
30 Jan 2010 - At Giant
Chest infections in 2009, the start of him getting thinner.

27 Oct 2010 - Ripas (Emak & ayah)
2010 was the peak where he was in and out of hospital due to infections and could not pass urine. He was referred to Ripas by JPMC.  This was the longest he stayed in hospital and still using the uring bag after discharged.  It was taken off but after 4 hours waiting still he did not urinate.  They put back the urine bag.

After the urine bag was remove, he was ok for about 2 weeks or a month, after that he continues to loose weight drastically and always sleep and sometimes confuse and not recognising those surrounding him.  It is difficult to understand his speech as he mumbles.

5 Jan 2011 - very thin now

6 Jan 2011
Due to lack of food and water intact, he becomes very frail and very dehydrated and was put on antibiotic.

He is a man of few words.  He was born on July 14 1932.  In 2011, he will be 79 years old.  As a young man, he was handsome (still is to me), tall, always well dress when he goes out, has a sense of humour, strict, but most of all he loves us.  He is a quiet guy who does not like to reveal much about himself.

Working with an oil company, we were ok.  Having eight children to support is a big responsibility.  But never once did I hear him sigh or complained etc.

During school holidays, he always brought us to BSB to museum, etc.  Even though we all cramped in the car or sat at the back of the wagon, we would go.  Kids those days even going for sight seeing they were excited.

During his off days, he likes to go fishing.  He provided us with what he can, he gave us more if and when he has extra income and spoilt us rotten.  Even when he doesn't have $$, he doesn't ask for help.  He is the eldest among his siblings of seven.  He has one adopted sister.

To me he is always a mystery because I couldn't read or understand him.  Till now, I still can't.  Only my youngest sister who has been there looking after him and my mom who knows his behaviour.  I thank my sis for looking after him though I didn't say it out loud.

For you ayah:

"Segala puji bagi Mu Ya Allah.  Dari Mu kami datang dan kepada Mu kami kembali.  Ya Allah, sembuhkan lah penyakit ayah ku seperti sediakala.  Ampun kan dosa dosa nya.  Berikan lah dia kesihatan tubuh badan agar dia dapat bergerak seperti biasa.  Permudahkan lah pergerakan dan pertuturan nya Ya Allah.  Hanya kepada Mu kami memohon Ya Allah.  Perkenankanlah permohonan hambu mu Ya Allah.

Ya Allah kau ampunilah dosa-dosa kami, sembuhkanlah penyakit-penyakit kami. Hanya padaMulah tempat kami memohon. Engkaulah yang kami sembah.  Amin."

Ayah, we missed your laughters and jokes.  Your grandchildren miss you.

Get well soon...he is still in hospital

One of those days....

Sometimes, no matter how educated we are, there comes a time when your mind is totally blank and you just don't know what is wrong even though the answer is in front of you?  This could happen to anyone.

Please follow my story as it is hilarious (so to think!)  I am sure everyone knows that some car parks have this auto ticketing machine and some are not.

Here goes....It happened to this person where she tried to park her car at the hospital basement.  On reaching the gate to the basement, she stopped in front of it waiting for the bar to raise up.  She travelled with her son and patiently waited..waited..and waited.  She looked left, she looked right.  She looked at her rear mirror, still the long bar did not raise.  She wondered where the parking attendant was?  She looked at the long bar in front of her car then looked at the auto ticket machine on her right....but still she waited....

By this time, the cars behind her were queuing up fast.  She said she waited for about 15 minutes but she and her son didn't even read the instruction on the ticket machine which says: "press button here to get ticket."  By this time, all of us were laughing.

In the end, she said she saw the driver from the 4th or 5th car behind her who came to her aid and press the button to get the parking ticket for her.  She said, "The driver must think that she was an old lady who doesn't know how to get the ticket."  Ha....ha.....

It was just one of those days...

As salam,

Kaka's dream car
Had a chat and talked with Kaka for more than one hour today.  She told us about her trip to Paris and how cold it was.  But she had a memorable time with her friends.  Missed her bubbly remarks and excitement when talking.  She always said. "Ma, Listen.  Listen first!  Listen to me."  You can see her face beaming and lights up when she talks.  I do miss that.  Was it from her Sheffield or Paris trip that she saw a car which she fell in love with.  She said, "Ma, you get for me that car."  Hello???  The MAN of the house said, "Study!"  You know the drill.  We had this discussion many many years when you were back home.

See pic above of the car of Kaka dream car.  Where's that Hummer you were talking about?  Huh??  By 4th year, you will want a different car.  Believe you me!

By the way, I like the song Just A Dream (sung by Jason & Joseph) that you asked me to watch in Youtube.  I listened to it with your bro BUT he got it already from Izzat which was a duet by  Sam Tsui & Christina Aguillera I think.  But I like the version by the two guys better.  Very catchy!!

Mama doakan semoga dalam perlindongan dan rahmat Allah.  Moga semua di permudahkan dlm menghadapi pelajaran dan cemerlang dalam apa jua bidang.  Amin

signing off....
