Sad..

Assalam,

Saturday 28th April we - my youngest sister and youngest brother together with my mom, went for breakfast. Since my sister got her new samsung note, she was telling me to install free applications such as viber etc as we can make use of free sms and free call. By 10 am we left and drove back home as I need to pick up Khairee's graduation pictures and Nasreen for her injection. After returning home, I remembered about the viber so I sms my friend (very closed friend and ex classmate since primary 3) in Singapore. Till today we are still in touch through email, sms etc. Whenever I am in Singapore I made time to see her and if I can't do that, I will call her or sms her. Back to the sms I sent to her that day, I totally forgot all about the sms until after a few days.

Remembering her, she is always bubbly and excited when see each other. 27 years ago, her flat was my stop with my friend every time we went back to UK. We would get together and update each other on our latest news. If we didn't get to get out of the airport, she would make time to come and see me at the airport.

After we got married, everytime I go to Singapore, I will always call her. She would make time to have dinner with us and later they would come by our hotel with her husband and we talked some more. She has one daughter now in secondary one if I am not mistaken. I always have fond memories of her. She is always cheerful, smiling, and helpful. She and her family, including her dad and sisters came to visit us a couple of years ago.

Last year November 2011 on transit in Spore for my onward journey home, I called her. She told me her dad had stroked.

Sunday 29th April, I planned to go to town to get our normal groceries. Somehow I checked my hp and saw an sms which surpirsed me. Shocked! I was sad with the news. She had cancer - uterus and ovary.

She got operated in Jan 2012. No wonder I didn't receive any news from her. She is now recuperating at home and still going for her chemotherapy. The company she worked with arrange for her to work from home after her operation and treatment. She works from home in March this year for 6 months. At least she has positive thoughts always. She won't let the cancer let her down or upset her. But each time after the chemo, she will be very exhausted and tired. I pray for her speedy recovery.
